Email capabilities will be limited while we're at sea, so please tell anyone who wants
to keep track of where we are, how we're doing, etc, that they should check this website
for daily status reports.

R/V GYRE checks email several times per day. This is a batch download/upload process
that uses the ship's "gyremail@aol.com" business emailbox and a satellite link. Please help
us keep satellite connect time/charges to a minimum by keeping your emails of modest
length and frequency. DO NOT set a forward on your land email accounts unless you can
guarantee junk mail will not be forwarded. Also, please tell anyone who may need to send
email to you at sea to SEND NO ATTACHMENTS and to keep messages as short as possible.
Our connect time to the satellite is expensive, and I don't want this time used for download of
attachments and/or junkmail! .
